A tranquilizer would have been perfect but I didn't have a single thing for her. And since there was no blood or major injury, visiting the emergency hospital was not necessary ... that time.
That is a heart breaking yet comical story to describe and hopefully an experience she has blotted out over time. It was also a less serious thing although very painful and stressful for both of us. But it might have been even worse.
As a committed dog owner you should certainly know at least basic first aid for dogs in order to be prepared for more extreme emergencies.
